Bulk Modifier Templates Installation Guide

What You Need

• BigCommerce store admin access
• Permission to install third-party apps
• At least one product in your store (templates can apply to new products too)
• Understanding of product modifiers (or we can help!)

Install the App from BigCommerce Marketplace

1. Log in to your BigCommerce admin dashboard
2. Navigate to Apps & Features → Apps → My Apps
3. Search for "Bulk Modifier Templates"
4. Click the app card to view details
5. Click "Install" button
6. Review the permissions requested and click "Install" to confirm

Authorize the App

1. In BigCommerce admin, go to Apps & Features → My Apps
2. Find "Bulk Modifier Templates" in your installed apps list
3. Click "Launch" to open the app
4. You'll be redirected to the BigCommerce OAuth authorization screen
5. Review the requested scopes and click "Install"
6. The app dashboard will load automatically

Create Your First Template

1. Click "New Template" in the dashboard
2. Enter a template name (e.g., "Size Options" or "Color + Material")
3. Add modifier options:
   • Option name (e.g., "Small", "Medium", "Large")
   • Price adjustment (e.g., +$0, +$2, +$5)
4. Set adjustment type (fixed amount or percentage)
5. Click "Save Template"

Apply Template to Products

1. Select your template from the list
2. Click "Select Products"
3. Choose how to select products:
   • By Category: Select all products in a category
   • By Filters: Filter by price range, inventory status, etc.
   • Individually: Search and select specific products
4. Review the selected products
5. Click "Apply Template"
6. Confirm the operation - template will be applied to all selected products

Common Issues & Solutions

Template not applying to products

• Check permissions: Ensure app has write access to products
• Check product selection: Verify products are selected before applying
• Try single product: Test with one product first to isolate issues

Modifier conflict with existing options

• Solution: Create a new template with all desired options including existing ones
• Note: Templates replace modifiers completely, they don't merge

Can't access the dashboard

• Check permissions: Ensure your BigCommerce user has app permissions
• Try again: Go to Apps & Features → My Apps → Bulk Templates → Launch
• Contact support: If you continue to see errors, reach out to us
